CBSE Class 9th to 12th Syllabus: This new examination policy has been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education i.e. CBSE, according to this new syllabus released, now the examinations of class X will be held twice a year, along with this, keeping in mind the new education policy, the board has made many changes, this will be easy to study and students will get opportunities to learn new skills.

Since the release of the new education policy, the board was being churned by CBSE for changing the syllabus of the tenth and twelfth board examination for a long time. CBSE has instructed all schools to implement new courses, in the examination session- 2025-26, it will be studied according to this syllabus.

CBSE Class 9th to 12th Syllabus

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released syllabus for the upcoming academic session 2025-26 from class 9 to class 12. According to Dr. Pragya M. Singh, Academic Director of CBSE, this course has educational materials, learning results for examination, learning results, recommended educational practices and detailed guidelines on evaluation framework. The new course is designed with the aim of increasing and empowering students’ knowledge.

CBSEs have urged schools to integrate experienced teaching, skill-based evaluation and interconnected approach to enhance students’ cognitive understanding and application. This will not only give students knowledge, but they will be able to apply it in practical life as well.

The syllabus has direction to adopt flexible and referenced teaching methods under the National Curriculum Infrastructure (NCF) 2023. This will cater to diverse studies requirements and will take into account each student’s personal development process.

CBSE has asked schools to promote project-based teaching, investigation-inspired approach and technical education. Giving importance to technical education, it will be given an important role in the curriculum, so that students can work effectively in the digital world in future. 25

10th exam will be held twice a year:

According to the new course released by the Central Board of Secondary Education, the 10th examination will be held twice a year. For this, students of class X will be able to take the board examination twice in the session 2025-26. The first exam will be held in February and the second April, while there has been no change in the 12th examinations, the 12th examinations will be held once a year as before.

Also changed to grading:

The release of new courses by the board has led to many major changes. CBSE has also changed the grading criterion for 10th and 12th, now 9 point grading systems will be used to create results.

Examination fee will increase:

CBSE has proposed to conduct board examination twice a year for students of class 10th from 2026. If this system is applied, it can cause many significant changes in the education system.

First exam: If a student does not pass the first examination, he will get an opportunity to appear in the second exam.

Permeable Students can get temporarily admission in class 12, but their admission results will only be finally determined on the basis of second examination.

Examination fee increase: The examination fee will be increased due to the examination twice a year.

Practical-interpreter assessment:

Under the new change, the board will conduct only a practical examination/internal assessment. Students who fail in the first examination will get temporarily admission in class 12, but their final admission will be done only on the basis of second examination.

  • Select the option of educational website.
  • Click on the syllabus link in the ‘Educational’ section.
  • PDF of notice will open on the screen, in which click on the link to the course.
  • Click on the option of class 9-10 or class 11-12.
  • The course of the course will open. Check it well and keep a printout of the syllabus for future context.
